This post really takes me a whole lot of time~ I have been writing this for a few months and i finally finish it. Thanks to the lazy me. So let's begin...
Use of Foundation:
To give your face
- Even out skin tone
- Brighten your face
- Covering up your flaws (Optional)
What foundation SHOULD NOT DO:
- Clog your pores
- breakouts
- oxidize and give a muddy look to your face.
However to prevent this, it is not easy as different people's skin are sensitive to different chemicals/brands. Therefore, before buying any foundation, I strongly encourage everyone to do more research about them, be it a drugstore brand or a high end brand. I will not touch into this too much as this really depends on the brand you are looking at and also your skin.
Different type of Foundation:
- Tinted Moisturizer
- Moose Foundation
- Liquid Foundation
- Cream Foundation
- Powder Foundation

On touch, tinted moisturizer feels like a serum. It helps to moisturize your skin and also give a very light coverage as there are some pigments to it. It goes on really smoothly and you will not feel heavy at all, just feel naked :)Suitable for:
- People with good skin
- People who only need very little coverage
- "no makeup" makeup look
- People who do a lot of Sports
- Students
However, I would recommend to people who do sports but like to put some makeup. That is because people sweats while doing sports. You do not want to have ugly sweat line on your face and your pretty outfit in the end of the day. Also, I love looking pretty even when i am exercising but do not want to make it looked obvious.
I would also recommend to the students (Secondary/Polytechnic/University).
As Secondary students are not allowed to put on makeup, tinted moisturizer is like a hidden foundation which is good. As for the polytechnic and University students, we tend to spend most of the time in school, meaning, having our makeup on for really long time. To take this chance, I would like to tell Singapore students (THE LADIES!) to at least put on a little makeup! First to present yourself better (fresher looks) and second to attract the guys! (haha) I do think that Singapore student standard of beauty should level up a lot more. Peace!~
Mousse Foundation

Moose Foundation are something similar to Cream foundation but have much light feel. I personally felt that they are like a stain foundation. Some popular one will be the Shu Uemura mousse foundation. They are the one that suits hot humidity country like Singapore. It is not very heavy but have a decent coverage. Suitable for:
- Hot humidity Country
- Oily Face
- Daily foundation - long-wearing
- Young Adults
- Indoor Sports
- Polytechnic/University Student
However, applying these kind of foundation can be very difficult as it tend to dry up much faster, you will have to work fast. I personally suggest using a sponge to apply them as it tend to create foundation lines quite easily too~ They tend to be slightly more expensive too due to the new market.
Liquid Foundation

I personally love using liquid foundation for everyday foundation. Their coverage is very similar to the mousse foundation. However there is a lot of difference to it. Liquid foundation is easier to apply them and build-able. I am currently using the Chanel Vitalumier Aqua in which i done a short review on this~ (this is written months ago so i have finish this lovely bottle already~ sob sob... trying other products now~)Suitable for:
- Oily face
- Daily foundation - long-wearing
- Young Adults
- Polytechnic/University Student
Liquid Foundation is best apply with either your hands or a foundation brush. As it's a liquid formula. I personally felt stapling brush is not a good brush to use over here. You can find liquid foundation anywhere. However, there is a different thickness, smell and coverage for different brands. You might have to research more before you buy. I personally have tried a numbers before i found my favorite one. Some breaks me out.
Cream Foundation

Cream Foundation is like a paste to me. It is a much thicker formula. Normally comes in a container/packs. To me, it's not suitable for people staying in a hot weather country as it tend to melts away unsightly. You will need to put a layer of loose powder if Suitable for:
- Special events
- All Ages
Important facts about Foundation
So, to end this off, I would like to let all my lovelies to know some facts about foundation. No matter what kind of foundation they are, there are allow some disadvantage that we will need to face.
To have a good foundation, it's important that they do not oxidize. And due to this, our skin are not breathing the lovely air that they should have. In long runs, our skin will get dull. Therefore, I recommend not to put them too thick and maybe not all around the face for daily basis (just like me!). Also, it's good to allow your face to breathe at least 2 times a week. I don't put makeup during weekends if possible. And on Monday, I can definitely see big difference. Once, due to my lasik, i didn't put makeup for full 2 weeks and my face are really brightened up! If have have good skin, why spend so much on foundation? Care for them more than cover them up.
If you are used to use them on daily basis, remember to clean your face properly. spend a bit more on good makeup remover and facial cleaner. Good doesn't mean expensive ya~ I recommend The Faceshop makeup remover and cleanser. They are great!
I really hope that my this post that i use really long time to write is beneficial for your lovelies~ This is all base on my past research and of course my experience! Hope it's not to lengthy!
xoxo!
